Short Definition
Matt Quarterman
Three “of”s, three “the”s
and five simple nouns,
like an arpeggio of desires,
stumble hard upon each other.
I’m tempted by this phrase,
a sweetly beckoning lilt.
Foolish to oppose or resist,
idiocy to deny the force
of twelve short words.
“The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
